Celebrate Those You Love While They're Alive

My Mom would have been 91 today.

I was thinking of contacting my local Catholic Church to have a mass said for her.

That's what we do as Catholics.  We periodically have a mass celebrated for a departed loved one.

But with both of my parents now in Heaven, along with so many other dear family members and friends over the years, my sense is that they're embracing Love - and being embraced by Love - in ways that we cannot comprehend on Earth.

So, ultimately, they're doing just fine.

I know that I know that I know my beautiful Mom and Dad, dear "St. Frances of Turri" and "St. Pompeii," are doing just wonderfully.

My concern, however, is for the rest of us here on Earth.

Why wait until someone we love dies to celebrate their life with a mass or a special religious or spiritual service according to the loving-kind belief system to which we may adhere?

Why wait until they die to offer for them a toast to Heaven?

Let's do it now.

Call your priest, your minister, your rabbi and ask them if they would schedule a service for your chosen living family member or friend...or even yourself!

Send flowers to Heaven...now...today...for the living.

Don't wait until they or you are dead.

They or you won't need any blessings then.

Being in Heaven will be a blessing enough.

Instead, it is the living - here on Earth - that require the blessings.

Tenfold.

So...make that call and surprise your dearest living, breathing loved one by scheduling a mass for them.

Or again, even schedule a mass for yourself.

Either way, celebrate the living!
